Norfolk State Falls To Savannah State in Two OT - Sept 12, 2004
The first double-overtime game in NSU history produced 170 plays and 925 yards from scrimmage and a new NSU record of 30 tackles from All-American linebacker Kevin Talley (Newport News, Va./Warwick). But it did not produce an end to the Spartans’ school-record-long losing streak. That slide is now at 12 games, tied with Holy Cross for the longest in I-AA.
NSU (0-2) had a chance to end the game in regulation, but Antonio Gomez (Chesapeake, Va./Deep Creek) narrowly missed a 42-yard field goal wide right on the final play of regulation, sending the game into overtime tied at 27-all....

NORFOLK, Va. — Dwayne Mims scored on a 2-yard run in the second overtime, and the Savannah State defense’s subsequent goal-line stand preserved a 41-34 win over Norfolk State on Saturday night at Dick Price Stadium, ending the Tigers’ 15-game losing streak.
